Marco Silva has told Sky Sports that Fulham must make new signings before the end of the summer transfer window otherwise ‘we have a big problem on our hands’.
The Fulham head coach, speaking ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Manchester United at Craven Cottage, once again took aim the Whites’ woefully slow close season recruitment. He said:
“We have to [make more signings], we don’t have another chance. Luckily the window is still open. If not, we have a big problem on our hands. It’s not normal at this stage of the season that we have just signed one free agent player. You won’t find one [other club] that didn’t spend one penny up until now. Just Fulham Football Club.”
Silva insisted he needs new additions to supplement a small first-team squad – reiterating his comments ahead of the start of the season where he suggested the first two games might be a write off due to the only new arrival being back-up goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte.
“We are light, nothing to hide about it. It’s not the perfect or ideal scenario for us at all, it’s far from that. We’ve got to do things completely differently than (what) we did in the last two months in terms of prep for the next ten days. It’s probably not enough time. but we’ve put ourselves in this position. Now we have to sort the problem.”

He got it dead right. He will not stay unless unexpected rabbits are pulled from the hat in before deadline day. like many fans he really fed up wit the lack of activity
Absolute disgrace that Khan is not backing Marco after what seemed like promises to add to the squad .
Best manager we have had for a long time will walk, he won’t tolerate this much longer.
If we get injuries we’re in trouble. Seems after a good season things have gone seriously wrong. Never felt silva would stay once his contract ended. Sad it’s ended this way after doing such a great job. Don’t know why the transfer window has gone so badly if we have money or not. But my main worry is the fall out between manager and owners . We do need players but have a good squad. If the owners haven’t been honest with manager it’s a worry, and his out burst to media can’t be helpful for morale . Which buts club in bigger mess, let’s hope the players still perform. Feels like relegation battle already
So depressing. Silva’s performed miracles making this squad so competitive – and, if he walks, it is the board’s fault. Why can’t we build on his success? We’ll regret this.
Does anyone believe this supposed war chest of funds actually exists the khans have so over spent on their luxury new stand with it’s fittings and fixtures which unfortunately actual FFC fans can’t afford or asked for you’ll probably find that’s where the money from the mitro and Paulinha deals have gone as for Tony Khan I know he’s in town not because AEW have an event here this weekend but because my local park has an actual circus this weekend so obviously the biggest clown of all must be there with McIntosh in tow
