The BBC’s Phil McNulty has Fulham down to finish fourteenth in his pre-season preview.
McNulty writes about the Whites:
“It’s been a very quiet summer at Fulham so far, though full-back Kenny Tete’s decision to reject Everton to stay at Craven Cottage is a big plus.
Fulham are confident there is no need for a big overhaul of Marco Silva’s squad, with plenty of talent such as defender Anthonee Robinson, along with midfield players of the quality of Andreas Pereira and others. Harry Wilson can always be relied upon for an important contribution.
As with their summer, this will be another season of stability for Fulham under the tactically astute Silva. Mid-table perhaps – but with the capacity to do more and always trouble teams higher up the table.
There is, of course, plenty of time for Fulham to strike in the transfer market, with suggestions of a deal being discussed for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Brazilian winger Kevin.”
My view all along. Hopefully this will not include a relegation battle… i still believe that 3 good additions to the current squad would make all the difference. Let us hope and pray for a season similar to these last 4 years
We’ve had some good seasons and must remember the size of our club . Nothing wrong with being ambitious, but our main am must be to stay up take every game as it comes and see we’re we end. Would take 14th every year with little cup run anything else is a bonus
I know this is pessimistic but, I think we’ll finish in the bottom three and Marco will leave (maybe even before the end of the season). I’ve always been very happy having the Khan’s money and the stadium is now fantastic but they (Tony especially) don’t have a clue how to keep a team built for winning. Why buy old players with a limited sell by date when we have such a great academy. I hope this is just me being an old grump but, I love this club. COYW
Seems legit.
It’s the, relative to the start of the season, lateness of recruitment that irks……again.
This time financial restraints are far fewer and Silva seemed excited at the end of the season that, for once, he could bed players in without the necessity to prepare for the next match. Stress free experimentation.
We are a known quantity to other teams, until we have fresh blood, and thus easier to beat.
What do points mean? End of season prizes!
Tend to think as it stands 14th is probably there or there about’s. Shame as we have had two missed opportunities since our return to premier league and I thought they would not keep making the same mistakes with regards to acquisitions timescales. Good start is so important but slightly concerned we might struggle before international break. Hope to be proved totally wrong and we have 4-5 points afterChelsea game which will be a decent tally. Come Leeds game and no doubt the cavalry turning up last day of window we have a very limited time when all back to bed newcomers in with half the squad or more away. Sometimes I think the powers be at Fulham think Silva has a magic wand?
Here’s to a convincing 0-3 win at Brighton Saturday but that cloud over Fulham pre season does not want to shift currently.
I think the pundits mostly predicted us last year 13/14 but we came 11th and not far off 8/9th had we not had a last bad run . I feel BBC in particular really don’t think much of Fulham ..they love the big Six and old First Division clubs – in ecstasy that Leeds and Nottingham Forest in the premier . We are seen as some oddity that should not be there . As far as I am concerned #*Â¥ them ! A few signings and let’s prove them wrong COYW.
