Iranian international Mehdi Taremi will decide this week whether to sign for Leeds United or Fulham, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 33 year-old endured a disappointing first season with Inter Milan and has been told he is surplus to requirements at the San Siro. Both Premier League sides have submitted proposals to Taremi’s agents – and a decision is due in the coming days.
Jimenez is almost 34, he serves the club well but we cannot afford to have another old striker. We need strength and pace not experience!
This would be very disappointing and show absolutely no ambition
Surely it is Chelsea who have the pensioners, not us?
Hearsay evidence again. The time to consider believing is when you hear actual quotes from the player, or in some cases a joint statement from both agent and player. Until then it’s all part of the click-bait jungle!
We don’t want him regardless of what is being said the quoted price is 10 million for a 33 year old that was on a free transfer a year ago and has failed at Inter Milan.
No thank you Leeds you are welcome to him.
Is that it 10mill for a pensioner the board really have no ambition we had so much under mo are all you loyal supporters realising they don’t want a football team fucking up there plans all they want is a posh restaurant I seriously thing it’s the end of us as a premier football club COYW
Hope he goes to Leeds. Why this obsession with old players. You can’t improve them and they have no sell on value. Just a waste of 10 million from a man who likes value for money
Why are so many so ready to believe every sad report remotely negative about FFC! ITs not journalism it’s clickbait churnalism! And the Khans should be thanked for FFC being where it is: if you’d started supporting the club for decades before the end of the 20th Century, yeah you might feel a bit disappointed with the lack of movement so far, but compared to when we had to move to Loftus Rd or where we we before Jimmy Hill rescued us you’d realize how well of we are right now!
Well said Steve D
Choose Leeds! Please.choose.Leeds!
Ffs 32 years old bollocks Fulham sick and tired on these last minute shit planning for the future my arse silva will walk end of season guaranteed
Surely we can do better. A younger player with something to prove. If Muniz does go with the start of the season so close we will have alternative to Jimenez
Steve D how much are the Khan’s paying you we don’t want a player 33 years old we already have a 34 year old striker.
John B – it’s called perspective. Like I said, all of this rumour-mongering is what happens when media outlets have zero real news – its called churnalism: they don’t check their sources and simply want to turn over the same old same old! It’s frustrating that nothing’s happened, yeah – I get that – but it’s also true that under the Khans FFC has been established as a mid-table premier league club. I don’t think anything they do happens unless it’s also got Marco’s approval and he’s hinted that a lot of work is on-going behind the scenes but not directed any even hint at criticism against the Khans. Each deal is a complex game of ‘cat and mouse’, particularly for relative minnows like us, who haven’t the resources of, say, Chelsea, who appear not to have to worry about FFP rules as much as we do. Brighton, for example, seems to have found a way to manoeuvre through it all quite successfully, along with, to a slightly lesser degree, Brentford and Bournemouth. We’ve still got 27 days yet – so let’s see where we are then. I agree that Robinson not yet ready and Sess potentially not being available against Brighton are aggravating factors that add to the argument against the Khans of doing everything at the last minute, but on the other hand, I also think that nothing much happens without Marco’s sign-off.
We’ve signed 1 backup goalkeeper and that’s it. This is the worst business under the Khans in the last five years and fans have every right to be upset especially after achieving our highest ever points total. We are so close to Europe and if we stand still we will not get it. Steve, I understand perspective is important but I am not simply complacent with sitting in mid table for a few years before eventually being relegated. Silva is a top manager and highly ambitious man. Fans have every right to be upset and angry if this time is wasted away simply over penny pinching. I don’t get this response where we should be grateful to be average in a top league. You’ve supported the club for a long time. Don’t you want to finally see it push on then and show some real ambition? We only have so much time on this planet.
You’re speculating a lot here in this post and that’s fine we all are to many degrees but I refuse to believe this FFP nonsense otherwise we wouldn’t be spending 30+ on Kevin without an outgoing. The Khans can’t even hire folks to put simple communication together that we played a regular friendly and BCD friendly. It’s embarrassing.
Silva probably does have sign-off but I guarantee he does not want all of this done last minute. There are plenty of examples over the years of teams finding gems of players and not on the deadline day. I’m starting to seriously question the scouting nature and network of this team and why it looks to 30 year olds like Raheem Sterling instead of younger and under the radar players plying trade in other leagues.
Btw, you’ve mentioned history. Look at the history of the Khans when they came into the picture. Yo-yo club extraordinaire. Who is to say that won’t happen again? Especially if Silva walks.
For me, I’ve had enough of Ali Mac, enough of poor communication, enough of being called the “local football team”, enough of bad ticket prices, enough of this transfer policy, enough of complacency from the Khans to allow all of these issues to run rampant in the club. Find a good buyer who is willing to invest heavily and put significant energy in Fulham and sell. Find someone who is willing to be a real steward for the club.
