Fulham defender Luc de Fougerolles is set to spend the season on loan in Belgium to gain more experience of first-team football ahead of the World Cup, according to Jack Kelly.
The Canadian international, who starred in the Gold Cup this summer, signed a new four-year contract with the Whites earlier this month but was vocal about his desire to play more regular football having missed out on ten months of action through injuries.
The nineteen year-old, who made his Fulham debut at Ipswich Town in the League Cup two years ago, has become a key part of Jesse Marsch’s plans for the World Cup. He travelled to Fulham’s pre-season training camp in Portugal but is set to leave on loan with Marco Silva’s blessing as the Cottagers consider more minutes may accelerate the academy graduate’s rise through the ranks.
