Harry Wilson scored twice as Fulham began their pre-season programme with a 4-1 behind-closed-doors victory over Scottish Cup holders Aberdeen this afternoon.
Marco Silva gave minutes to 21 members of his first-team squad as the Whites got back in the swing of things ahead of their training camp in the Algarve next week, but it was the visitors who went in front as early as the second minute. Topi Keskinen seized possession following a defensive mistake and summer signing Kusini Yengi beat Bernd Leno with an assured finish.
Fulham equalised from the penalty spot in the nineteenth minute after Timothy Castagne had been brought down in the box. Wilson stepped forward to score confidently from twelve yards and Welsh winger’s predatory instincts ensured the hosts were in front at the break. He finished a flowing move after being fed by Alex Iwobi from the left flank to make 2-1 eight minutes before the interval.
Silva rung the changes at half time with Rodrigo Muniz heading home Fulham’s third from a Harrison Reed corner seven minutes into the second half. The Brazilian’s finish was deflected past goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov by the unfortunate Yengi. Josh King, who committed his future to the club by signing a new four-year contract earlier this week, rounded off the scoring by converting a precise right-wing cross from Martial Godo with twenty minutes left.
