There is still no news about the future of Fulham captain Tom Cairney, whose contract with the club expired on June 30th.
We might be able to draw our own conclusions, however, after the midfielder was spotted giving a press interview at the All England Club ahead of the Wimbledon men’s singles final by Jack Kelly’s mother.
Maybe we’ll have to get used to calling Cairney a former Fulham midfielder from now on?
Yes and rightly so. He’s nothing more than a bit part player now. Move on.
I do not agree he has shown great loyalty and can still produce from the bench.Good for the younger players as a role model
Would have loved him to stay great servant, and feel could still help round club and coming on from bench. But depends who we sign could have got little playing time time. And at his age understanding if only offering one year
I think our language is important when we are talking about our players, and I mean our players. I have always enjoyed the impact that Tom has made in all of the games whether as a starter or substitute, so in our reflections lets keep a positive view of our players.
His premier league days are over, there is no point in offering him another contract.
Simon and J were you at the bees game. When TC and Josh came on they changed the game. Granted he won’t play 90 these days but worth a one year extension if he would take it. And he also showed in that game he does have some pace left in short bursts
I would give Tom a 1 year contract at least with option for an extension he has shown he can still change a game and can offer him a chance to help the younger players. Should he decide to move on I would like to say thanks for your many years great service and best wishes from the sincere FFC supporters.
A bit part player, who comes on from off the bench and can change the game for Fulham, I don’t think so, sign and new contract Tom, he will be so missed if he doesn’t.
As pre season has already started and he hasn’t signed it’s safe to assume he isn’t coming back, shame because he’s an excellent squad player
He has not signed elsewhere yet and no clues what he is thinking. I would like to see him remain at our club for another season, but do appreciate that it may not suit him primary being used from the substitutes bench Let us all remember he has been and still is a great ambassador for FFC. I hope the door remains open for him if he does not find an alternative where he can play more regularly. I am sure one issue for him is that his family are settled in London
I keep reading comments that the club need to give TC another contract. Those people either haven’t been watching or have forgotten that he’s been offered a contract and hasn’t signed it. It’s his decision if he’s played his last game for us.
