Fulham’s first team squad have reported for the first day of pre-season training at Motspur Park this afternoon.
The players have had a light day at the training ground with assessments and administration largely the order of the day. The physical work begins tomorrow with a programme that has been meticulously planned out by first-team fitness coach Jack Grinstead.
The Whites will play their first pre-season friendly against Scottish Premier League opposition in Aberdeen behind-closed-doors at Motspur Park on Saturday 19 July.
Where’s the new signings which need to be bedded in during preseason not halfway through September
Still awaiting the new promised signings. They will need time to acclimatise if they are to gel.
Same old same old still the only club in the Premiership yet to sign anyone, we need to relieve TK from his job of signing players because he just doesn’t understand how football matters work and I don’t think he ever will, why are we doing the same thing every transfer window why do we wait till the last day and why are we always linked to free transfers and old players who no one else wants, we will always be an average club with no ambition look how Nottingham Forest and Brighton run their business and get their players in early for pre season.
Yeah sure lets remove TK from the job and ask his dad to appoint who? You perhaps? Let’s stop this nonsense once for all, our transfer business under the Khans has served the club quite well. Anyone stating otherwise has not been watching Fulham these last 6 seasons
Your right Simon…but it should happen earlier like the other comments to enable bedding in bonding etc but it never does.
My biggest concerns is the pathway though to the first team for the u21s which had a very good season. We are losing far to many of the talents through lack of tying down the kids with contracts.
With Simon . The Khans have heavily invested in Fulham , our transfer deals have been late but always paid off (ESR yet to see ) and we get amazing bargains ! We have a a great nucleus to start the season no key players gone – new players can be embedded as we go along and we have Marco turning all suitors down . This is not even looking at glass half full . Yes them up the road doing well but they have almost 3 times the cash . COYW !
Lots of clubs panic buy, pay silly money for average players. Buying early means nothing if the deal is a bad one. Have a little patience, we’ve done well in recent years and didn’t lose anyone significant either. COYWs
Thanks SIMON, BOB and PEZZ.
Well said Bill I fully agree with you I have never heard Tony Khan refuse to buy a player for the manager.
None of us know what is going on behind the scenes. Only newspaper gossip which you should not pay to much attention to. I’m sure TK doesn’t pick players on his own. So let’s be patient and see what his team come up with instead of making stupid comments.
A lot of good commutes above. My take is we have a squad of experienced players who over the last couple of seasons have developed a togetherness which I expect will show by the end of this season especially with quite a few of them now in their prime. I am especially looking forward to seeing how Harry Wilson will perform as there were moments last season when he showed how good a player he is.
The is the best squad I have seen during my years as a Fulham supporter and that is testament to the Khans’ and the whole back room team. New signings will come and I am sure will compliment the team, and yes, having them in early makes a difference, however, there is a lot of competition in the market and players take time in making decisions, i.e. they are always waiting for a bigger and better offer to come in and if it doesn’t they then take the next best option; a club in Fulham’s position today can’t control that and the players we are after will take longer to consider their options because we are looking to augment our team with better players now. Anyway, that’s my take.
