Luc de Fougerolles has committed his long-term future to Fulham by signing a new four-year contract.
The Canadian international will remain at Craven Cottage until 2029 and told the club’s official website this afternoon that he is targeting a regular spot in Marco Silva’s first team. The nineteen year-old said:
“I’m happy that I’ve signed a long-term deal and hopefully can break in and start playing some games for Fulham at some point. It’s my local club, I went to loads of games growing up, I know all the staff, all the players. It’s a great club and I love it here, so signing a new contract is amazing, and I can’t wait to have another four years here.”
The defender joined Fulham as an eight year-old and was plucked from the under-21 squad to make his professional debut in the League Cup victory at Ipswich Town in November 2023. The Battersea-born youngster then made his international bow for Canada, the country of his father’s birth, during a 2-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago in March 2024. He returned from a lengthy injury lay-off to feature for Fulham’s under 21s and featured in Canada’s Gold Cup campaign earlier this summer.
Fulham’s director of football, Tony Khan, added:
“I’m very happy to announce that we have signed Luc de Fougerolles on a long-term contract and he will be with Fulham until at least 2029. It’s particularly pleasing as Luc has been with the Club since he was eight years old, so he really is part of the Fulham family. He is a talented young player who was particularly impressive for Canada at the Gold Cup this summer.
He has a bright future ahead and we are delighted he’s committed to Fulham for the long-term. Congratulations Luc! Come on Fulham!”
Excellent news and a fine young man!
Fantastic he’s one of our own
Makes a change to see one of the younger players sign a long term contract that’s good news. Having said that a couple of seasons in The Championship or a decent standard European league. Long way from first team regular.
Great for the lad. Reading TK’s usual comments about how excited he is about Luc’s new contract, now he can concentrate on improving the senior 1st team squad.
Great news. Andersen not getting any younger – or quicker =so great to have a long term replacement.
a nice lad took time to speak to my grandson at the Maidenhead game.
Great news – adding to keeping Tete and keeping a solid nucleus to the team for start of the season . Rather keep him in the squad and training with the first team than on loan. Think we need the cover ?
