Third Division Fulham have signed promising striker Andy Cole on loan from Arsenal.

The Nottingham-born centre forward, who signed professional terms with the Gunners after leaving school in 1989, made his first-team debut as a substitute – aged 19 – in a 4-1 win over Sheffield United at Highbury in December 1990. He also appeared, from the bench, in the 1991 Charity Shield draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

Cole has moved to Craven Cottage as a replacement for young forward Corey Browne, who damaged knee ligaments whilst scoring on his debut last week, and could be sidelined for more than two months. The 20 year-old could make his debut in Saturday’s home game against Swansea City.
