Both Fulham and Manchester United have made approaches regarding the availability of Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, according to reports this afternoon.

Journalist Orazio Accomando says that the two Premier League clubs have enquired as to the details of a deal needed to sign the 31 year-old defensive midfielder, whilst the tenacious Turkish enforcer has been on the radar of a succession of Saudi Arabian sides for a while. Calhanoglu is already looking to leave the San Siro this summer after Inter’s miserable end to the campaign and an unseemly row with Lautaro Martinez, but his preference is to sign for Galatasaray, but the Turkish giants are only able to pay £12.8m – some way sort of the Serie A outfit’s £34m valuation.

It would be difficult to see either the Whites or United coughing up that sort of money for a player who has already past thirty – but it looks fairly certain that Calhanoglu will leave the San Siro this summer.
