Second Division Fulham have signed Canadian international Paul Peschisolido from West Bromwich Albion for £1.1m.

The pint-sized striker becomes Fulham’s record signing and is Ray Wilkins’ third addition in month since he replaced Micky Adams at Craven Cottage. Wilkins beat his old club Queens Park Rangers to the 26 year-old’s signature after last season’s promotion hero Darren Freeman was ruled out for two months with a knee injury.

The former Toronto Blizzard forward scored 21 goals in 51 games for the Albion after being sold by his wife Karen Brady at Birmingham City. Peschisolido had rejected a new contract at the Hawthorns because of a lack of his first-team football and has dropped a division to spearhead Fulham’s attack. He will go straight into the side for tomorrow afternoon’s home match against Northampton Town.
