Fulham could be without striker Rodrigo Muniz for the remainder of the season after he injured his achilles in the defeat at AFC Bournemouth, according to Marco Silva.
The Portuguese head coach confirmed that the Whites would be without the Brazilian for Saturday’s trip to Aston Villa – and admitted during his pre-match press conference that the former Flamengo forward will find it difficult to return during the run-in. Silva said:
“Rodrigo? No, not for this game, probably not for the next one. It’s going to be difficult to have him until the end of the season. Of course, we are going to try, see how he’s going to react, but the news is not very good regarding Rodrigo Muniz. We have to see week by week, but it looks difficult for him to be ready until the end of the season.”
That could be a significant blow to Fulham’s hopes of qualifying for Europe next season – although Silva did reveal that Antonee Robinson, who missed last weekend’s late win over Southampton due to injury, will be available for selection at Villa Park.
I know it won’t happen and MS doesn’t go for youth, but I would like to see Callum Osmand available on the bench. Anyone is better than Vinicius.
