Ellie Olds helped herself to a hat-trick as Fulham Women demolished Denham Ladies 4-0 to ease through to the next round of the League Cup this afternoon.

Steve Jaye’s side looked sharp from the first whistle in their first fixture since the winter break. Olds was a livewire from the outset, with her fourth minute cross almost finding Megalie Mendes in the area. Stella Gandee Morgan was next to threaten an opening goal with a snapshot from range that flashed wide, before Denham’s goalkeeper made a sharp save to deny Gandee Morgan. The midfielder whizzed another effort fractionally over the bar before Olds broke the deadlock eight minutes before half-time.

The experienced forward headed emphatically home to break Denham’s dogged resistance and Fulham found penetrating the visiting defence far easier in the second period. It took Olds all of a minute after the resumption to double the lead as he converted a clever cross from Maddie Filer and the in-form forward fired home her third of the afternoon with relish six minutes later.

Olds turned provider for wing-back Madi Parsonson with ten minutes to play as the former Dulwich favourite powered home the fourth goal of a profitable afternoon for the Whites. This comprehensive win meant that Fulham stretched their unbeaten run to sixteen games ahead of next Sunday’s mouthwatering fourth round FA Cup clash with Championship opposition London City Lionesses at Craven Cottage.
