Fulham forward Gary Brazil admitted the Cottagers’ confidence is completely shot after Ian Branfoot’s side crashed to a 3-0 defeat at promotion-chasing Plymouth Argyle yesterday.

The Londoners were never in the game as a brace from Ian Baird – after a predatory strike by Adrian Littlejohn from a well-worked free-kick – lifted the Pilgrims to fifth in the Third Division table.

Brazil told the press afterwards:

“Our confidence has turned full circle. What we were doing earlier in the season seems impossible now. I’m not blaming [goalkeeper] Tony Lange and the other defenders but we’ve got to try and keep a clean sheet. It’s up to all of us to do something about it.

Their first goal – the free-kick – may have been good to look at but it was disappointing to concede. Micky Adams back in the team would for us would be a big plus.”
