Fulham left back Micky Adams will be out of action for two months after undergoing an emergency cartilage operation earlier this week.
The player-coach was stretchered off in the closing stages of the Cottagers’ 1-0 defeat at Leyton Orient on Saturday – and faces another spell on the sidelines having had part of his cartilage removed on Monday afternoon.
Adams, who scored twelve goals in 23 starts last season after signing from Southampton will now undergo a punishing period of rehabilitation in the hope of returning to action as soon as possible.
Fulham manager Ian Branfoot said:
“Micky’s never had so much time out [injured] since he came to Fulham. It’s a big blow for us but at least it was a clean operation with no complications. It was a fair challenge but naturally I’m very disappointed.”
