Harry Wilson wasn’t the only one to deliver a virtuoso performance for the ages last night. Former Fulham forward Dimitar Berbatov excelled as the guest analyst during Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football – revelling in his old club’s stoppage-time derby victory over Brentford.
The Bulgarian was eminently watchable all evening – celebrating Wilson’s winner by running around the Sky Sports’ studio in delight and then clutching his head in disbelief at the dramatic turnaround. He delivered a deadpan line after the final whistle having hailed Marco Silva’s passion – showing just how much the local bragging rights mean to Fulham.
“Oh my god. That’s why we love football. Fulham deserved something from this game and they got the three points. That’s why Marco Silva was so emotional. I’ll tell you something – this is the type of game where, after the game, babies are made!”
Not far from the truth!
