Fulham attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe is determined to bounce back from the gutting disappointment of conceding a stoppage time equaliser by beating Brentford in the west London derby on Monday night.

The England international made Fulham’s opener at Goodison Park for his former Arsenal team-mate Alex Iwobi with a superb individual run, but professed himself ‘annoyed’ at the Whites’ failure to hold on for all three points on Merseyside on Saturday night.

Smith Rowe told the club’s official website:

“It’s still a bit annoying, it’s football – you have to move on quickly. It’s still disappointing. I wasn’t too happy with my performance, but it’s always good to be part of a goal. It’s annoying we couldn’t get the result in the end – getting the three points is the most important thing. I feel like I can contribute a lot more to the team.”

Fulham’s record signing wants to help Marco Silva’s side get back to winning ways against the Bees on Monday evening.

“I was just talking about it with the boys. They told me it’s a massive game, it’s a massive derby. I’m sure the boys will be up for it. It’s definitely one that it is always a bit more important. It’s always closer to the heart. I’m really excited, I can’t wait.

Like you said, we had a disappointing result last time at the Cottage [against Aston Villa] but we want to make things right on Monday. There’s no better time than to do it than in a big day. I really love evening games under the lights. I’m really excited. We’ll have a good week’s training and we’ll make sure we are ready to go.”
