Fulham chartered a private jet to get Raul Jimenez and Antonee Robinson back to London as swiftly as possible and aid their recovery ahead of Saturday’s showdown with Aston Villa at Craven Cottage.
The in-form forward scored one goal and made another as Mexico recorded their first win over the United States in seven attempts. Mexican media outlet TUDN revealed this morning that the 33 year-old and Robinson were joined on the jet home by several other British-based participants in the friendly – underlining the Fulham duo’s importance to Marco Silva and possibly earning the Whites’ some goodwill with other UK clubs.
That’s where my ticket money has gone.
I have no problem with this. Flying these guys so far for pointless friendlies no one wants to play, and holding them so close to the next league games is beyond moronic.
As the saying goes, no man is an island.
These things you are duty bound to honour I’m afraid.
