Fulham chief executive Alistair Mackintosh has confirmed that the club supported the Premier League’s associated party transaction rules in the recent high-profile case brought by Manchester City.

The confirmation of Fulham’s support for the league’s regulations, reported by several national newspapers in the wake of the tribunal judgement earlier this month, came during October’s meeting between club officials and representatives of the Fulham Supporters’ Trust. Mackintosh, who was Manchester City’s chief executive between 2003 and 2008 before moving to Craven Cottage, told that the Trust that ‘Fulham had supported the APT rules and would hope to do so if revised rules were tabled’.

He also stated that ‘Fulham were particularly well served by chairman Shahid Khan turning his loans into shares, so interest was not normally applicable.’

The notes from this month’s meeting have been published today on the Trust’s website.
