Fulham are set to open negotiations with winger Adama Traore about extending his contract at Craven Cottage, according to the Mirror’s Darren Witcoop.
The Spaniard has become a fixture in Marco Silva’s first-team this term after impressing the Fulham head coach with his application and progress during pre-season. The 28 year-old was signed on a free transfer last August following his release by Wolverhampton Wanderers. His current contract expires next summer – although the Premier League side hold a twelve-month extension option – but the Mirror’s report suggests that the Whites are looking to reward the wide man with a longer-term deal.
Traore was largely used as a substitute in his first season in SW6, scoring twice – against Brighton and Hove Albion and Luton Town in eighteen appearances. He has started all seven of Fulham’s Premier League fixtures this season, scoring the equaliser at Ipswich Town and setting up goals in the home wins over Leicester City and Newcastle United.
