Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson has revealed that conversations with Marco Silva convinced him to join Fulham on deadline day rather than newly-promoted Ipswich Town.

In his first interview as a Fulham player, the 24 year-old explained his excitement at moving to Craven Cottage and believes he can be a success in SW6 as he compliments the way that Silva wants his side to play. The winger told FFCTV:

“Deadline day was a lot of waiting around. My brother is my agent so it was a bit easier – because he lives around the corner. I was waiting at his house, all the family were there as well. It was a bit up and down – I didn’t really know what was going on – but in the end I think I made the right decision.

I spoke with the boss and he convinced me about the project and it was something I couldn’t turn down. The boss likes to play out from the back and he likes inverted wingers, so ones who are either foot and can combine with the striker. That complements where I want to play.

Ambitions are really high. We’ve got great players in every position. It is something we can thrive off. It’s about playing good football and attacking football – going to grounds and not being afraid of playing against the top teams.”

Nelson could make his debut in the London derby against West Ham United after the international break.
