Fulham have tabled a £12m offer for Lyon’s attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki, according to the Athletic’s Peter Rutzler.

The French under-21 international has been a long-standing Fulham target who the Whites tried to bring to London last season. The 21 year-old, who is now in the final year of his contract at Lyon, has been training apart from his team-mates over the past week and has attracted interest from Fulham, Crystal Palace and a number of continental clubs.

Chekri, who made his senior debut at the age of sixteen, has made 141 appearances for Lyon and has won 21 caps for his country at under-21 level. He was part of the French Olympic squad that won the silver medal at this summer’s Games in Paris.
