Fulham have agreed a fee £30m for Crystal Palace centre back Joachim Andersen, according to the Athletic – paving the way for the Danish defender to return to Craven Cottage.

The 28 year-old, who spent a season on loan with the Whites when they were relegated from the Premier League in 2020/21, has starred since joining the Eagles from Lyon in the summer of 2021 for £19m. Andersen has made 112 appearances for Palace, scoring three goals, but seems set to return to his former club as part of Marco Silva’s summer rebuild. Palace had been seeking around £40m for one of the key players, but a period of intense negotiations appears to have delivered a compromise.

Andersen, who made 31 appearances across all competitions in his season in SW6, has made 36 senior appearances for his country. He is set to be joined as a new signing in Silva’s squad by Burnley midfielder Sander Berge, who is poised to have a medical at Motspur Park.
