Sander Berge is travelling to London for a medical with Fulham after the Whites agreed a deal with Burnley to sign the Norwegian midfielder, according to the Athletic.
The Cottagers have reportedly agreed a fee of around £20m – with £5m worth of add-ons – as well as already finalising personal terms with the 26 year-old. Berge is expected to undergo his medical at Motspur Park on Thursday.
Marco Silva had targeted the signing of a central midfielder before the end of the August transfer window following the summer departure of Joao Palhinha. Berge, who has won 46 caps for his country, has significant experience in English football having made 109 appearances for Sheffield United and playing 40 games for Burnley last season.
Never saw that coming so why did we waste so much time on McTominay And Andre when we could have had him in for pre season.

I expected. I don’t know much about him so will have to defer judgement, McTominay was always a non started and he does not fancy joining us. Whatever happened to Andre is that now a dead duck?
Where does the information come from saying he is coming to London for a medical. All I have read is that we have put in a bid, but Manchester United are still interested. Is this a ploy re Scott McTominay. Who does not want to leave. I like Malcom B would be interested to know about Andre. It sems to me we are getting mixed messages here
I still believe we will sign Andre but late in the window as TK is trying to keep his fee low and doing a bit or brinkmanship with fluminese.

Over the moon with this. We were interested in him last Summer and he was brilliant for Burnley last season. Has been my first choice as João replacement but with no indication of the club showing interest this time around I was beginning to lose hope. Fantastic signing if it goes through
This is a great signing for Fulham. Very good tidy upper and breaking up attacks although NOT as good as Palhinha in this respect (who is?).
But, on the ball, he surpasses Joao and, at 6ft 4ins, offers better cover, defensively, as well as a threat, offensively, in both boxes.
The irony is that, when we were last interested in him, before he left Sheffield United, we could have grabbed him for circa 12m. Now, we have to pay double.
Still, I rate him very highly and prefer him to McTominay who, even though it looks like he will spend most of the season on United’s bench, doesn’t fancy coming to Fulham.
As for Andre, he is unproven in the Premiership and, if he was really good, it wouldn’t have taken us two years to debate the purchase-so forget about him.
A right footed centre back will probably be our last piece of the jigsaw for this window although I really believe we need a left wide player.
Watched Leicester v Spurs and I honestly have no idea how Decordova Reid was selected over Mavadidi and, judging by his performance, it won’t take long before the Leicester fans feel the same. So, so glad that he has moved on.
Tosin, too, is set to give his backside a good working out, this season, sat on the subs’ bench at Chelsea.
These players will come to realise that the grass is NOT always greener and, if they don’t want to play for Fulham then I, for one, don’t want them at the club.
Joao can’t be replaced, he’s world class and was the heart of the team these past couple of years.
We looked very different without him last Friday.
Berge is a step forward though…remember Andre is under six feet tall. Berge is a giant by comparison….and gets way less yellows than Joao.

If this is true and I hope it is Berge is a proven PL player did not see this one coming but to Hijack him from Man Utd is a coup in it self I bet there fuming and I hope they are this is the second one together with Cuenca who we did not hear about until we signed him which Is good If TK as done this then at tast he’s learning shame we wasted time with McTOminay and Andre it’s there loss not ours now just a CB maybe Andersen another Striker as Muniz as not really got any Competition at the moment and Marco always on about Competition for places maybe a loan to buy but please not another Broja
Good signing. With him in the side E S Rowe will be able to play further up the pitch than he did Friday.
Charles, Joao was unproven in the prem so if we were to get Andre with 4 CM we can develop him over the season under Silva’s stewardship. Definitely need a CB and a left sided attacker preferably one that can upfront from time to time to give Silva more options.
From what I saw, I think he’s more an 8 then a 6. We still need a 6(DM). But he is a very good addition to our midfield. COYW
Just like to give out a fair play to TK and the board. I for one have been very critical and frustrated by our lack of pace in the transfer market. But it is all coming together. Right sided CB and then it’s just bonus last minute loan shopping. You can’t really ask for more than that
What’s the negatively about this player ,l do not understand!! He is 26 yrs old Norwegian international player and knows the premier league !!
