Birmingham City are poised to test Fulham’s resolve to keep Jay Stansfield by submitting a second bid for the striker, according to the Daily Mirror.

The League One club are set to allow Jordan James to leave St. Andrew’s so they can fund an ambitious move for the England under-21 international. Blues have already seen a bid worth around £6m rejected by the Cottagers but are preparing a new bid in an attempt to match Fulham’s valuation of their talented and versatile forward.

Stansfield scored thirteen goals in 47 appearances as the Blues were relegated from the Championship last season and the former Exeter City forward had been expected to form part of Fulham’s first team squad this term having been praised by Marco Silva. But Birmingham are confident they can persuade Stansfield that he will develop further by spearheading their push for an immediate return to the second tier, according to the Mirror’s chief sports writer Neil Moxley.
