AC Milan have registered their interest in signing Fulham’s Scottish under-21 international defender Ibane Bowat, according to the Athletic’s Peter Rutzler.

The talented centre half, who has been with the Whites since making the switch from Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2017, has impressed in two loan spells in continental football after helping Steve Wigley’s side win promotion back to the PL2 top flight. The 21 year-old made sixteen appearances for Dutch second tier side den Bosch in 2022/23 before having an outstanding season with Austria’s TSV Hartberg last year.

The Austrians, for whom Bowat played 34 times, were interested in making the move permanent but a deal hasn’t materialised. AC Milan view the left-footed centre back as a potential player for their new B team but have yet to table a formal offer. Bowat has a year left on his current Craven Cottage contract, with Fulham holding a year’s extension option.
