Willian has rejected Fulham’s offer of a new deal, according to the Daily Mail.
The Brazilian veteran, now 35, is out of contract this summer and Marco Silva had wanted to keep him at Craven Cottage for at least another twelve months. The former Arsenal and Chelsea winger had been in discussions with the Whites over extending his stay in SW6 but the Mail reports that Willian has now formally turned down Fulham’s second offer of a contract extension as he considers offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
Willian has starred under Silva since Fulham signed him on a free transfer in September 2022. The winger has scored ten goals – and made seven more – in 67 games as the Whites re-established themselves as a top flight club but now looks set to be moving on this summer.
adios amigo, buenos dias.
He can leave .He is replaceable and plus at his age,We had to replace him anyway. He should be grateful that the club gave him a chance to come back to Epl,when nobody did !!!
Good luck to him. We got 2 great seasons from him and he was brilliant to watch. I am sure he going for the money and at his age I can’t blame him. I am sure FFC have there eyes on a replacement, hopefully they will not wait until 11.59 on deadline days!!
I think we need an input of energy, pace and enthusiasm. Some new, younger, players who are excited to be at FFC and eager to grow their careers. The time is right to replace players who are past their best.
He gave us 2 great seasons. It was not always his day but when it was it was a pleasure to watch such fine technique. No on in our squad even came close to the skill on the ball, especially his left foot. Over 70 caps for Brasil, when Brasil were the top team in the world say a lot. Good luck Willian, thanyou for the sterling service
I just hope we hurry up and bring in some good younger players with a sell on value and no more over 28 years of age. We need to start signing now like other clubs are doing I hope Tonkey pulls his finger out before other clubs beat us to the players Marco wants to bring in .
Another inevitable move and I wish him luck. I just hope he doesn’t soil himself by going to the Arabs
🙁
Good luck and thanks.
I guess I’m a bit more disappointed by the loss of Willian and Palhinha than most.
The evergreen Brazilian has been so good and Joao simply the heart of it all…they are both very special players like Leno and Robinson.
If they’re replaced will it be soon enough for them to be assimilated into the team given the hapless recruitment methods of the Khan’ts?..
Two of the best gone…no one signed, here we are in July.
How long will Marco put up with this?
Another one bites the dust. Starting to look grim.
