Fulham have reignited their interest in Chelsea centre back Trevoh Chalobah, according to the Evening Standard.
The paper reports that the Whites are targeting the 24 year-old centre back as a potential replacement for Tosin Adarabioyo, who will move from Craven Cottage to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer next month. The Standard suggests that Chalobah could be one of a number of homegrown talents who the Blues sell on this summer to secure their financial position under the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.
Chalobah, who has four years to run on his current Chelsea contract, is believed to be keen to stay with his boyhood club and fight for a place in Enzo Maresca’s first-team having featured towards the end of the season after recovering from a hamstring problem. But Chelsea could take the matter of his hands by inviting a bidding war for the cultured centre back, who attracted interest from the likes of Inter Milan and Bayern Munich last summer.
Fulham hold a long-term interest in Chalobah that predates Marco Silva’s arrival in SW6 but may baulk at matching Chelsea’s £25m valuation. The defender has made 80 first-team appearances for the Blues, scoring five goals, and also spent time on loan at Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town and Lorient.
Second brother lucky , maybe!
