A brace from the returning Clive Mendonca gave Rotherham United’s play-off hopes a boost as the Millers came from behind to beat struggling Fulham 2-1 at Millmoor this evening.
The Londoners led at half-time thanks to Gary Barnett’s first goal in fourteen months, but they folded in the second period following a period of prolonged home pressure. Mendonca, now fully recovered from the serious head injury that had kept him out of Rotherham’s last six fixtures, added bite and guile to United’s attack and he grabbed both goals to secure a crucial three points.
The victory leaves Rotherham six points behind third-placed Bristol Rovers and ten points back from Tranmere Rovers, who are in second place. The Millers will be looking for another victory when they travel to Leyton Orient this weekend.
