Kurt Nogan grabbed the only goal as Brighton and Hove Albion beat Fulham at Craven Cottage this afternoon.

The striker punished some sloppy defending as he converted a cross from captain Kevin Codner to score the winner three minutes before the hour mark. Albion had the better of a low-key encounter with Geddes seeing a shot blocked on the line by Jeff Eckhardt in the first half and Jim Stannard pushing a fierce drive from Paul McCarthy onto the woodwork after the interval.

Fulham struggled to overly extend Seagulls keeper Nicky Rust with Gary Brazil and Sean Farrell both off target from long range. The home side came closest to a goal before Albion went ahead at the start of the second half with Gary Brazil rattling the woodwork and Sean Farrell seeing the follow up blocked by the arm of Deny Munday only for referee David Frampton to avoid a corner rather than pointing to the penalty spot.
