Goals from Ede Buchele and Georgia Heasman secured a comfortable away win for Fulham FC Women at the New London Lionesses on Sunday afternoon.

The Whites started on the front foot with Buchele shooting wide after a sharp turn in the seventh minute and Lois Konan and Heasman testing the handling of the home goalkeeper. The bright Buchele pounced to give Fulham the lead when the goalkeeper fumbled a high ball – finishing smartly from close range.

Tia Foreman, a dangerous presence along the left flank throughout, clattered the crossbar before half time but the visitors failed to make much of an impression on the New London Lionesses goal until substitute Ruby Murtagh rifled an effort wide after a promising run down the right. Murtagh then saw another drive smartly saved by the goalkeeper, but Steve Jaye’s had to wait until a minute from time for the second goal that made saw of all three points.

Charmaine True, who had come close with a brilliant effort that was tipped away from the top corner, slipped in Heasman and the winger made no mistake with a composed finish.
