Scottish international Jimmy Sharp made 125 first-team appearances in three spells with Fulham, having moved to Craven Cottage from Dundee in May 1904. The Whites equalled their transfer record to re-sign him from Glasgow Rangers for £1,000 and he featured in the run to the FA Cup quarter-finals in 1912. He moved to Chelsea at the end of that season but returned to Fulham as trainer in 1919 – memorably scoring his only goal for the club in his final match a year later when striker Harold Crockford missed the bus for a trip to Bury.
