Fulham set up a Dallas Cup semi-final against Sao Paulo on Friday after being held to a 1-1 draw by Mexican outfit Tigres in their final group game yesterday.
Winger Lemar Gordon put the young Whites in front inside the first ten minutes by winning position off the Tigres defence high up the field, racing through on goal and lashing an emphatic finish high into the net. Gordon made have made it two but fired over the bar having been set up by Brad de Jesus, before Tigres equalised from twenty yards after Fulham had failed to deal with a long ball forward.
Ali Melloul and his coaching staff made five changes at half-time and Fulham’s football was far less fluent after the interval, but the Whites progressed from Group B as winners. They will take on Sao Paulo at 10pm UK time on Friday evening.
