Former Tamworth striker Dennis Higgins scored on his Fulham debut as the Whites beat Bury 7-0 at Craven Cottage in March 1936. He went on to score twelve goals in 32 appearances for the club before being killed in action in British occupied Egypt in September 1942 whilst serving as a private in the ninth battalion of the Durham Light Infantry.
