The rapid and creative winger Jack Finch was a Craven Cottage cult hero in the 1930s. He signed professional terms with Fulham in November 1930 and quickly became a regular in an attacking side. He played in the famous 10-2 thrashing of Torquay United in September 1931 and helped the Whites win the Third Division South that season, scoring eleven goals in 39 games. He was ever present as Fulham finished third in the Second Division in 1932/33 and helped Jack Peart’s side reach the FA Cup semi-finals in 1936, although he missed the 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United at Molineux through injury.
