Scottish central defender Jack Watson (also known as ‘John Fox’) joined Fulham from Bury in the summer of 1946. He made 71 appearances in two seasons with the Whites, scoring three goals, before moving to Spanish giants Real Madrid. He spent only a single season with Real – and remains the club’s only Scottish male player – before finishing his career back in England with Crystal Palace and non-league Canterbury City.
