Fabio Carvalho is a step closer to making a Fulham return this month after Liverpool cancelled the attacking midfielder’s loan spell at Red Bull Leipzig.
The 21 year-old midfielder is heading back to England after a disappointing six months in Germany, having made just fifteen appearances at Red Bull. Carvalho started just three games during a loan spell that has designed to help reignite his career after he fell out of favour under Jurgen Klopp last season – and Liverpool are now keen for the Portuguese under-21 international to finish the campaign at an English club on loan.
Carvalho is reportedly open to returning to Craven Cottage for the remainder of the season in a reunion with Marco Silva. The talented number ten shone as the Whites won promotion from the Championship in Silva’s first campaign in charge – with Carvalho scoring eleven goals in 38 games. Fulham are confident that they would be able to see off interest from a number of Championship clubs, including Leicester City, should the structure of any proposed loan deal suit them.
Why would loan, he’s done nothing since he left us. If Silva could get best out of him he then goes back to Liverpool at moment he could not get in our side. But if Silva wants him back make it for same prize Liverpool paid us
He would be a good addition to our squad even on loan. I suspect he regrets leaving Fulham and would jump at the opportunity to rejoin us either on loan or permanently
A Championship player
I think Fabio knows he made a mistake in going to L’pool. His agents pushed the move for the obvious monetary reasons and against his interests in progressing his footballing career with the prospect of regular games.
He received poor advice based on money alone. I’d have him back and trust Marco to get the best out of him. For ease, a loan with a clause that we can buy him atbthe end of the season for rhe money Liverpool paid for him. After all he has not got better since leaving us so doesn’t demand a bugger fee.
I wouldn’t be interested in a loan without a reasonable purchase option or at the very least a guarantee of a further loan covering next season. Even then I’m not sure how much game time he could expect.
only one way to find out how much game time he will get: bring him back and see!
Another Roberts. Went for the money and the glory. Worked out well didn’t it. Definitely don’t see this as improving the squad in any way
We should push all the emotion aside. Clearly capable but, two years on, how good is he? I don’t know, and neither do you. L’pool have an excellent attack, so unsurprisingly he is not picked. Elliott has a lot more game time. We want players, like Bassey, and Palhinha, who want to play! An excellent team win yesterday BTW. 60 years now since our 10-1 1963 thrashing of Ipswich!
He possesses great technique bit I wouldn’t have him back. He owed us at least a seadin after winning promotion. Besides, i believe he is too light and easily dispossessed for the Premier league. Any loan should include a buying agreement, otherwise we would just be doing Liverpool a favour
We don’t need another number 10 we need a centre forward. If cheap and his attitude is right about coming back then fine but clearly not a priority
No – just not right
We still haven’t replaced Mitro and that has to be our first priority and Andre should be our second priority it is once again dragging on and on.
