Tosin Adarabioyo is set to return to first-team training following shortly his groin injury in a significant boost for Fulham, according to Sky Sports.
The former Manchester City defender has been out of action for two months having had surgery on a persistent problem but his imminent return – coupled with the news that he is now considering committing his future to the club – is welcome news for Marco Silva, who is currently juggling defensive injuries. The 26 year-old’s absence at the same time as Issa Diop has led to Calvin Bassey and Tim Ream, two left-footed centre halves, playing alongside one another and the problems that caused were evident in the 2-0 defeat at Tottenham on Monday night.
The Sky story also confirms yesterday’s reporting that Tosin is ready to restart contract renegotiations with Fulham after Silva signed a new three-year contract at Craven Cottage last week. The cultured centre half enjoys a strong relationship with the Portuguese head coach and is open to staying in SW6 now that Silva’s long-term future is secure – having been heavily linked with a move to Spurs and Monaco over the summer. The Cottagers will need to move fast as the defender can begin pre-contract discussions with foreign sides on January 1.
