Scottish full-back Kieron McAnespie is finally a Fulham player having completed his medical at Motspur Park.
The defender has moved south of border for £80,000 having impressed Fulham’s scouts with a series of strong displays for St. Johnstone. Scottish reports had claimed that the deal was done yesterday, but McAnespie only passed his medical at the First Division said this afternoon.
McAnespie has come through the youth ranks at St. Johnstone, scoring twice in his first two senior appearances as an eighteen year old as Saints won promotion to back to the top flight. He went on to score in famous win over Celtic and Rangers, scoring five goals in 50 appearances, and is able to play either as a full back or a winger. The Scottish under-21 international was recommended to Fulham by former national team coach Craig Brown, who was own of four youngsters asked to accompany the senior side to the France ’98 World Cup.
