Fulham have confirmed Aleksandar Mitrovic’s depature for Al-Hilal in an official statement issued this evening.
The Whites will receive £45m for the Serbian striker, who scored 111 goals in 206 games in five years at Craven Cottage. Fulham are also entitled to a sell-on fee should Mitrovic leave the Saudi Arabian outfit.
Fulham’s statement reads as follows:
“The club can confirm that Aleksandar Mitrovic has this evening left to join Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League for a club record transfer fee. The club had reluctantly accepted a revised offer as the player had consistently made his desire to leave known.Â
Mitrovic joined Fulham in January 2018, initially on a loan deal before signing permanently that summer. In his first season, he helped the Whites to a Championship Play-Off Final win, securing promotion to the Premier League, the first of his three promotions to the top division.Â
During the Club’s 2021/22 Championship title-winning campaign, he scored 43 times to set the record for most goals scored in a 46-game English league season, and equal a club record for most goals scored in one campaign. We wish Aleksandar all the best in this next step in his career.”
As much as it hurts the way he chosen to leave, there’s no denying his commitment when he joined in 2018. Even in the dark days of Parker and his fine margins, he stayed loyal then. Saudi offers life changing money, we get a good fee for him, and it gives us an opportunity to change our style up.
Thank you Mitro!
Now TK should focus on bringing some reinforcements in instead of the AEW ppv
How much of this development played on today’s performance for the players and coaching staff?
I bear no grudge to Mitro he was on good money but the numbers being mentioned are life changing for future generations of his family
Move on quickly and be VERY active in the market over the next 2 weeks
As usual we have left everything to the last minute once again and I don’t believe we will be bringing in players who can make a difference I just hope we don’t lose Marco because of the way Tony Khan has left things so late again he just doesn’t realize how important it is to get players in early and settled in before the season starts.
Fucking do one sadly it’s all about enjoy it no loyalty
We must keep Pahlinha, a true leader was missing, Ream has served the club but his time is on the sideline now
Play Diop up front. He creates so many goal scoring opportunities…….pity they are at the wrong end of the pitch.
