Hampshire-born Martin Thomas made more than a century of first-team appearances for Fulham having signed on a free transfer from Leyton Orient in the summer of 1994 after the Whites were relegated to the Third Division. He made 29 appearances as the Whites went up as runners-up under Micky Adams in 1997 and teamed up with his old boss at Swansea City, for whom he also played a hundred times. He famously scored the goal that knocked West Ham out of the FA Cup in January 1999 and went on to feature for Brighton and Hove Albion, Oxford United and Exeter City before leaving professional football aged only 29.
