Fulham are ready to reignite their long-standing interest in Monaco full back Ismail Jakobs and battle Nottingham Forest for his signature, according to the Daily Mail.
Marco Silva is keen to sign a left back to compete with Antonee Robinson, who a signed a new five-year contract earlier this summer, but Fulham have failed in their attempts to sign a number of targets, including Fode Bello-Toure most recently. The Whites are now aiming to gazump Forest in their pursuit of Senegalese international Jacobs, who they first took a shine to two years ago when he was at F.C. Koln.
The 23 year-old, who has made eighty appearances in two excellent seasons with Monaco, has experience of playing in the Europa League and Champions League and is also able to play on the left wing. Jakobs, who has won eight senior caps for Senegal, was restricted to the substitutes’ bench for much of last season and has been linked with a move away from the Principality this summer, which has put Forest and Fulham on red alert. He has three years to run on his current contract at the Stade Louis-II.
Could use Tosin in a part exchange deal if the speculation is true.
