Fulham have had a second bid – believed to be worth £5m – for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi rejected by Chelsea.
The Evening Standard’s Nizaar Kinsella revealed this morning that the Blues have turned down an improved offer from Fulham after discussions throughout the past week. The near neighbours, who played each other in the final game of the Premier League’s Summer Series in Maryland last night, are still in negotiations over a deal for the England international. Hudson-Odoi, who is the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge, wants to leave Chelsea this summer and is keen on making the move to Craven Cottage.
Fulham are not willing to pay the £10m Chelsea are seeking for a player who they will be able to sign for free in January and are currently considering their next steps.
Come on Fulham you need to get players in quick , we have a small squad . If you don’t want him walk away or pay , could lose manager and Premiership football . I like championship football not so Bent , but I want what best for my club that’s Premiership
Why are we so reticent to spend the necessary money? Seems to be a pretty common understanding that they’ll take £8m for him. That’s nothing in 2023 for a young, English player. Either we don’t think he’s that good so we should just abandon him and look elsewhere, or his wages are so high that we need to make a saving on the purchase price to be able to afford his contract. Again, if so, perhaps we should be looking elsewhere rather than inheriting Chelsea’s mental wage structure.
8 million seems a fair price to me especially as we desperately need reinforcements. Spend the money Tk
I thought that we needed 2 wingers…. CHH & Demari Grey both for 15m seems good business to me especially as we need bodies in the squad. It’s not like we are taking in 20 to 30 million 5 to 10 guys come on let’s just do it.
