Jean Tigana is keen on his supplementing his Fulham squad with the services of Newcastle United defender Aaron Hughes as the Whites prepare for their return to the top flight.
Fulham are understood to have tabled a £2.5m offer for the 21 year-old centre back after their scouts watched the Northern Ireland international on a number of occasions last term. Tigana, eager to strengthen his defence as the Cottagers get set for the top flight, believes Hughes has what it takes to become a top talent.
The Cookstown-native has spent four years with the Magpies and was handed his debut as a teenager by Fulham legend Bobby Robson.
Hughes has been at St James’ Park for four years after being a trainee with the Magpies.
