Goals either side of half time from Chris Coleman and Paul Bracewell secured a straightforward win for Fulham over ten-man Wycombe Wanderers at Craven Cottage this evening.
Chris Coleman’s side dominated the early proceedings but couldn’t find a swift breakthrough with Chairboys custodian Martin Taylor making a magnificent save to touch over a goalbound header from the dangerous Dirk Lehmann. But Fulham scored from the ensuing corner. Captain Coleman climbed majestically and powered a bullet header into the top corner from fifteen yards after being picked out by a pinpoint set-piece from Steve Hayward.
After Wycombe full back Gary Wraight was shown a straight red card for a terrible tackle on Sean Davis, Fulham grabbed a crucial second. Martin Taylor was unsighted by a daisycutter from Hayward, which he pushed out in the penalty area, and when Wycombe failed to clear, Bracewell leathered home a low, right footed shot from the edge of the box to put clear water between the two sides.
