Fulham are interested in signing Danish midfielder Jacob Steen Christensen from FC Nordsjælland, according to reports in both Denmark and Italy.

The Premier League club are one of a number of sides keen on concluding a deal for the Danish under-21 international, who is out of contract this summer and can open negotiations with foreign clubs. He had been tipped for a move to Serie A side Spezia but is believed to favour a move to England. Christensen, a central midfielder who can also operate in the holding role, has made more than a hundred appearances since breaking into the Nordsjælland first-team aged seventeen in July 2018.

Known colloquially as ‘Jaxe’, Christensen has missed just one game for Nordsjælland, who are top of the Superliga table by three points, this season. Marco Silva is eager to add to his options in midfield before the summer transfer window – and it remains to be seen whether Fulham would try to conclude a deal to sign the promising midfielder before Tuesday’s deadline or take Christensen on a pre-contract agreement.
