Fulham are facing a Football Association charge of failing to control their players following Joao Felix’s sending off in last week’s derby victory over Chelsea.
Several members of Marco Silva’s side surrounded referee David Coote after Felix’s lunge at Kenny Tete in the 57th minute of the Craven Cottage clash.
A statement from the FA released earlier this afternoon read:
‘Fulham Football Club has been charged with breaching FA Rule E20.1 during its Premier League game against Chelsea Football Club on Thursday 12 January 2023. It’s alleged that Fulham Football Club failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the 57th minute, and the club has until Thursday 19 January 2023 to respond.”
Ok but is the same going to apply to Newcastle players who harassed the ref on award of penality and then played silly B@¥€ers in 6 yard box before penalty kick or Man U players who hounded the ref and lines man to award the goal against City or the list goes on ! The linesman looked terrified when Man U questioned him raising the flag.
What happens to rule that only the Captain can approach the referee .
Totally agree with PEZ. You’d have to explain to me the criteria because the aggressive approach of players to officials is constant across all teams (not that it excuses us).
I doubt any similar disciplinary action will be taken against Manchester United or Newcastle – they are big clubs and represent big revenue / big clout. The Premier League is not a level playing field and everyone knows it – the balance of benefit always goes to the big clubs. West Ham, Manchester City and Newcastle games versus FFC attest to this – shocking refereeing and inexcusable with VAR technology!
Pez, Andrew and Dave…well said…very sad but awfully true.
The FA are just that…F****** A*******.
Bought and paid for.
Totally agree with the previous comments 100% Fulham and the smaller Premiership Clubs are bullied and threatened by the FA as previously stated The Media and FA love Affair with Man Utd Liverpool Chelsea ManCity etc is becoming a bit boring now straight away against Newcastle Pope should have been sent off be has obviously been told to do that by his Manager and Mr Big Ego VAR Mike Dean also missed the encroachment by one Newcastle player into the penalty area has MMitro was about to Strike the ball so forget the double kick by Mitro one that player should have booked and the penalty retaken watch the Vidoe again Total shambles by VAR
