Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic sat down for an interview with beINSport’s Carrie Brown ahead of his return to Newcastle United tomorrow.

In a snippet of the conversation released on Twitter this evening, Mitrovic shares his joy at the Whites’ wonderful season so far under Marco Silva.

“When you are a striker, your job is to score goals and you want to score goals. I love scoring goals. It has been an amazing season for myself, for the club, for my team mates. We really enjoy it – me especially – and hopefully I can can this form. We love it. We enjoy it. We want to continue like this.

The Serbian striker also offers up some words to live by:

“I never focus on the other opinions. I focus on myself and even when I have a good or bad, nobody needs to tell me. I know myself the best. Of course, I accept criticism but from the people that are married to me and want good for me. To all those who are struggling, just keeping working hard, never doubt yourself. Always believe in yourself, keep working hard every day. As I always say, after the rain the sun always comes. It just is a matter of time after some tough periods when good things will happen – and when they happen, make sure you appreciate them,
