Swedish striker David Elm signed for Fulham from Kalmar in September 2009 having impressed Roy Hodgson during a scouting trip that saw him take in a number of Champions’ League fixtures. Elm made his Fulham debut in the League Cup at Manchester City in 2009 and filled a role as Bobby Zamora’s understudy during his time at Craven Cottage. The tall forward scored his only Fulham goal in a 3-0 win over Burnley in February 2010, where he also made a goal for Danny Murphy. Elm struggled for game time after Hodgson left for Liverpool and joined Elfsburg for £1m in January 2011. He helped them win the Allsvenskan in the following year.
