Despite being a highly-rated member of Fulham’s academy and a precise passer in central midfield with an eye for goal, Darren Pratley only made two senior appearances for the Whites. Both came as a substitute. He made his senior debut when replacing Andrejs Stolcers in the 1-0 League Cup loss at Wigan in September 2003 and came on for Barry Hayles against Charlton to make his league debut in a 3-1 defeat at The Valley in November 2003. Injuries prevented him from breaking into Chris Coleman’s first-team squad and he signed for Swansea City for £100,000 in June 2006. Pratley has distinguished himself in a lengthy Football League career winning promotion with both Swansea and Bolton and is currently playing for Leyton Orient.
